The water is so salty that no fish can survive in it. However, it does support a unique brine shrimp which is harvested and used to make fish food. The salt concentration of the lake makes it extremely buoyant and people can float easily. The beaches have freshwater showers available for visitors to rinse after swimming. The Great Salt Lake is also very popular among sailing enthusiast and kayakers.

Hikers and mountain bikers find the trails on Antelope Island exceptional. The island also has excellent white sandy beaches and an abundance of wildlife. Antelope Island is accessible by automobile via a causeway that has been built.

Delicate Arch, UT, Utah Campgrounds Utah campgrounds that are a reasonable distance from the Great Salt Lake are concentrated on the southern and eastern sides of the lake. This is a great place to park your RV or pitch your tent.

Salt Lake City, the capital of Utah, is a wonderful place to do some Utah camping. The State Capitol Building is a very popular tourist attraction. The building was completed in 1915. This lovely Renaissance style building is beautiful. It features depression-era murals in the rotunda, which depict events from Utah’s proud past. The city is laid out in a grid pattern off the four streets bordering Temple Square. Inside Temple Square is the Mormon Temple, which was constructed between 1853 and 1893. It is spectacular to see. Salt Lake City is also home to the Mormon Tabernacle and the Roman Catholic Cathedral of the Madeleine both of which are beautiful.

RV Utah to Park City, this is a beautiful recreation area. This mountain city is a premier destination for winter sports. Park City is also a wonderful place to come in the warmer months. In the fall, the changing leaves usher in winter with colors that rival New England.

Devils Garden, RV Utah Utah camping offers some of the most interesting and beautiful scenery you can imagine. Scenic Byway 12 is a drive that you should not miss. The drive takes you through some of the most unbelievable scenery in the United States. This route was rated among the top ten Scenic Byways in America by Car and Driver magazine. This unique route winds through slickrock canyons, red rock cliffs, forest, mountains, national and state parks, a national monument and friendly towns. Byway 12 runs from U.S. Highway 89, about half way between Panguitch and Hatch, to Highway 24. The route has an abundance of hospitable Utah campgrounds to stop at along your way.

The historic St. George area is a treat for anyone interested in the history of Utah. The Mormon pioneers that settled in this area made their mark. The beautiful St. George LDS Temple and the St. George LDS Tabernacle were both built in the second half of the 1800s and they are beautiful buildings. While in St. George, you can tour the Brigham Young Winter Home and the Jacob Hamblin Home both of which were built about the same time as the Temple and Tabernacle.
