As you RV Prince Edward Island in the northwest section you might want to spend a few days at the
Jacques Cartier Provincial Park. The beach is supervised and the park is extremely family friendly. This is the approximate location where the first European visitor to come ashore in 1534. Jacques Cartier is said to have made the statement that this was, “the fairest land ‘tis possible to see!” Every July the park holds a celebration to commemorate the discovery on Rediscovery Day. The park offers a wide range of activities for the whole family including nature walks with the full time naturalist and children’s games. This is a great place to pull into a Prince Edward Island campground.
The town of Alberton is very close to the Jacques Cartier Provincial Park. The Alberton Museum is housed in the historic Alberton Courthouse which was built in 1878. This is the only courthouse of this style still standing on Prince Edward Island.
