New York Camping Means a Visit to More than Just the Empire State Building

A New York camping vacation would not be complete without visiting Niagara Falls. Located on the Canadian, United States border this is one of the most famous and magnificent water falls in the world. While at the Niagara Falls State Park you can take the Maid of the Mist boat ride right to the base of the falls. Or, you can take the Cave of the Winds tour which walks you to the bottom of Bridal Veil Falls. The Aquarium of Niagara is great place to spend some time. The aquarium has a vast assortment of sea life to entertain, engage and educate.

Few realize before they get to the Buffalo/Niagara area how much there is to see. Buffalo has some of the most exquisite architecture, from the late 1800’s and early 1900’s, in the country. Some of the buildings and Basilicas match the splendor of the famous falls. The Wilcox Mansion is in Buffalo, this is where President Theodore Roosevelt took his oath of office. There are cruses on the lake and trails in the state park, finding something to do should not be a problem. There are plenty of hospitable New York campgrounds in the area to park your RV or pitch your tent.

Paralleling Lake Erie, the Niagara River, Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River is a 454 mile scenic route, the New Your State Seaway Trail. Following this route is a great way to see the Great Lakes Region of New York. The route takes you through quaint villages, grand cities, fishing ports and dozens of family attractions. There are New York Campgrounds along the New York State Seaway Trail.

Take your RV New York trip eastward to Lake George. The scenery is enough to draw visitors. The region also offers historical sites, Horseback riding, scenic train rides, rodeos, white water rafting, museums, galleries and the list keeps going. Lake George is in the Adirondacks, this area has a rich history for you to explore. Native Americans lived here for thousands of years before the settlers ever arrived in the New World. There are plenty of nice New York campgrounds around Lake George for you to base your camp.

Saugerties is an extraordinary historical town.. From swimming in Esopus Creek to strolling through the historic main street of Saugerties Village, the town has something for everybody. The oldest of the buildings dates back the 18th century. Walking the streets of Saugerties is like time traveling back two hundred years. There are other towns in this part of New York that have maintained the charm of the past. The Hudson River is also near by. This is a great place for some New York camping.

Wall Street, RV New York One of the most popular vacation destinations in the United States is New York City. New York is a very large city. The rapid transit system is easy to use and affordable. The island of Manhattan is very busy and people tend to walk very fast, but most are extremely friendly and helpful if you are having a problem following your map. This is the home of the Empire State Building, Saint Patrick’s Cathedral and countless other superlative buildings. Central Park is beautiful and the center of recreation as well as monuments and museums. And of course, the Central Park Zoo is a great place to take the kids.

Statue of Liberty, New York Camping The Statue of Liberty is an attraction that can only be truly appreciated when you see it up close and personal. The view from Liberty Island is amazing. Tours of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island should be purchased in advance because it is extremely popular.
