Autumn in New Hampshire is famous for the magnificent foliage. RV New Hampshire anytime between mid May and mid October and the country side will take your breath away; this state is nothing short of beautiful. The state has wonderful winter sport possibilities however, the winters are harsh and finding a New Hampshire campground that is open in winter might prove to be extremely difficult.

Northern New Hampshire is a beautiful treasure. One of the areas biggest draws is white water paddling through the majestic White Mountains. There are stretches of river perfect for the beginner and stretches that only the most experienced should attempt. RV New Hampshire down Interstate 93 to the town of North Woodstock and stop at the White Mountains visitor’s center. Here you can pick up a detailed brochure with directions to the covered bridges and magnificent waterfalls of the White Mountains. There are over 100 water falls that are at their best in the spring. As the snow melts the rivers and streams are delightful. The water is high and the boulders are slippery so exercise caution when near the icy cold rushing water.

Fort Constitution Lighthouse, New Hampshire Campgrounds Lake Winnipesaukee is a great place to pull into a New Hampshire campground. The lake has 72 square miles of water surface for your pleasure. This is a water sports paradise with swimming, boating, fishing, canoeing and kayaking. This is a great New Hampshire camping vacation.

Concord is the capital of New Hampshire. The Capitol Building is the oldest state capitol building in the United States. The building was constructed of granite stones that were cut, shaped and faced by the local inmates at the New Hampshire State Prison for Men back in the early 1800’s. The building is quite impressive. On the grounds surrounding the building are statues of famous people of New Hampshire’s past, including Daniel Webster, John Stark, Franklin Pierce, John Hale, and George Hamilton Perkins. The crowning glory of the building is the huge Golden Eagle which is on the top of the Capitol dome. Concord also has museums, galleries and historical sites that you may wish to see while camping in the area.

New Hampshire has a relatively small Atlantic coastline, only 18 miles. The coastline maybe short but it is great! The Hampton Beach is an amazing vacation spot for the family. The sandy beach is host to a premier sand sculpting competition each June. This invitational contest attracts world class sand sculptures. The art work truly is amazing. Doubtlessly, you have to see it in person to appreciate the magnificence of the artistry. Hampton beach has activities for all age groups from toddler to senior citizen and they put on a fireworks show once a week all summer. New Hampshire camping in the Hampton beach area will delight the whole family.

Just to the south of Hampton Beach is Portsmouth. Portsmouth is a wonderful historic city with its cobblestone streets and many wonderful historical sites. One such site is the North Church organized in 1671. The present church building was built in 1855 and is still in use today. The North Church dominates the Market Square which has been the center of economic and commercial enterprise in Portsmouth since the middle 1700’s.

Portsmouth harbor, RV New Hampshire Just to the south of Portsmouth is the home of the American Independence Museum in Exeter. This was the site of the New Hampshire Treasury during the American Revolution. The museum includes the 18th century Ladd-Gilman House, Folsom Tavern built in 1775 and about an acre of beautifully landscaped property to lend beauty to the historic atmosphere. There are plenty of New Hampshire campgrounds along the Atlantic coast for your base as you explore this historic and beautiful area.
