North Dakota thrills with six regions. In the North Central Region Cando, the Duck Hunting Capital of North Dakota, showcases two museums: Pioneer Foundation/Museum and One Room School House.
The Northeast Region includes the northern Red River Valley and offers an abundance of outdoor activities.
In the Northwest Region, from 1828-1867, Fort Union was the most important fur trading post on the Upper Missouri.
The heart of North Dakota is found in the South Central Region. The capital city, Bismarck, offers attractions including the State Museum in the North Dakota Heritage Center and Dakota Zoo.
In the Southeast Region, the agricultural history of the southern Red River Valley is featured at Bonanzaville USA and Bagg Bonanza Farm.
Southwest Region's Dakota Dinosaur Museum features 12 full-scale dinosaur skeletons excavated from the area.
The Enchanted Highway (I-94, Exit 72) features metal sculptures.
