Utah is a scenic wonderland any time of the year, with several national parks offering adventure and an other-worldliness you'll find nowhere else.

1) Moab
Starting Point

Arches National Park is a photographer's paradise. Over 2,000 natural sandstone arches are scattered throughout the park, including the longest natural rock span in the world, along with unique geological formations of hundreds of soaring pinnacles, immense sandstone fins and gigantic balanced stones. Head out for an off-road adventure; choose from hundreds of old mining roads and backcountry trails that are definitely off the beaten path. Bring your own 4-wheel-drive vehicle, rent a jeep and explore the trails at your leisure, or just enjoy the view on a guided tour.

2) Green River
52 miles, 54 minutes

Experience an unforgettable whitewater rafting adventure on the Green River as you journey through Canyonlands National Park past countless canyons, mesas and rock formations, all set among some of Utah's most remote, rugged and desolate landscapes. Feel the power of the Green River and the tug of history as you glide past sites of Native American ruins, petroglyphs and rock art, outlaw hideouts and remnants of America's frontier. This region has been described as one of the weirdest, most wonderful places in the world.

3) Panguitch
200 miles, 3 hours

Backcountry adventure awaits at Bryce Canyon National Park, made up of large natural amphitheaters with thousands of "hoodoos" (rock pinnacles). Drive along the 20-mile route or head out hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, ATV riding or take an aerial tour. The sweeping vistas and scenic diversity will astound you, from majestic rock formations, a massive arched natural stone bridge and other compelling formations. These wild yet tranquil and remote areas provide a sanctuary like few others on earth.

4) Springdale
75.5 miles, 1 hour, 33 minutes
Surrounded by the sandstone peaks of Zion Canyon, Springdale, the gateway to Zion National Park, offers the chance to explore the canyon from top to bottom with sightseeing tours, guided safari tours and rock climbing adventures that take in the towering cliffs of stunning colors. Lose yourself through the lens of a camera and capture the hues, textures and breathtaking scenery that awaits at every turn, from sunrise to sunset. Discover the park up close on an all terrain vehicle, mountain bike, or by horseback, then go river tubing and unwind in the beauty of Zion.
