The largest city in the state, Omaha attractions include Durham Museum Climb, Omaha Children's Museum, the Mormon Trail Center, Lauritzen Gardens and Boys Town. Boys Town began as a single boarding house in 1917. Today, visitors can explore the Hall of History, stroll through a garden inspired by the Bible, rest in the Dowd Memorial Chapel and see the world’s largest ball of stamps at the Leon Myers Stamp Center.

The community of Ashland offers the Strategic Air & Space Museum, Lee G. Simmons Conservation Park and Wildlife Safari and Mahoney State Park.

As one of the world's most interactive zoo experiences, Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo boasts the world's largest indoor desert. Visitors can discover the animal underworld set among underground caves and come nose to nose with sea turtles as sharks circle above. Hop aboard historic train cars at The Durham Museum, climb in, on, and through everything imaginable at the Omaha Children's Museum and step into the pioneer life at the Mormon Trail Center

For walkers, birders and bikers, the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge is an almost airborne experience and connects over 100 miles of nature trails along the Missouri River. The Keystone Trail meanders along 27 miles of the Papio Creek and Omaha's three lakes offer fishing, boating and recreational activities all year long.
