That Pesky Fifth Wheel!

Not more than two weeks later Jim decided to back the fifth wheel further up the driveway and he asked me to come out and watch his back. I was busy and told him to wait a couple of minutes but he decided he could do it without me. The fifth wheel was a little taller than he figured and maybe he forgot about the electric and phone wires connected to our home. You guessed it, the fifth wheel caught under the wires and I watched in horror as the whole wall in the living room begun to move out and the sickening sound of the wires ripping from the side of the house sent me screaming "STOP!" to Jim, who was oblivious to the damage, as he gunned the engine to make the dang fifth wheel MOVE!! He stopped to see why I was screaming just as the wires popped off the house and our electricity and phones went dead. Back to the phone to call for help… whoops… had to use the cell phone. I called the electric company and the phone company and then we had to call an electrician because the electric company doesn't cover the wires to the house. All together those two accidents cost about $2000! I suggested that we get a class C motor home and we do a pretty good job of navigating that! (So far)
