These and other design principles have been incorporated in a new line of cold air intakes developed by filter maker Amsoil and air intake manufacturer Injen Technology. The resulting Injen/Amsoil Power–Flow Diesel Air Intakes with Variable Induction Technology are now available for the following diesel engines:
• 2005–07 Chevrolet /GMC with 6.6L Duramax
• 2003–07 Dodge Ram 2500, 3500 with 5.9L Cummins
• 2003–07 Ford F250, F350, F450 with PowerStroke
Variable Induction Technology features a multi–power air induction system that fills the plenum with air, giving added power on demand. The Diesel Power Box is manufactured using a composite mix of glass–filled nylon and polypropylene materials designed for quiet operation. Unlike plastic components, they will not distort under extreme temperatures. This material makes possible the integration of a built–in velocity stack that streamlines the air turbulence into the plenum air chamber by way of the multi–power induction system. The Power Box was designed for best cooling efficiency and the ability to resist high temperatures.
The Injen/Amsoil Diesel Air Intake Systems are manufactured using aerospace alloy T6 aluminum, stainless steel clamps and tig–welded ports and brackets. They are dyno–tuned for peak performance and have a direct bolt–in application, making installation quick and easy. Tapered plenum reduces turbo lag.
Since filtering is vital for protecting an engine from damaging dust and dirt, these cold air intakes are equipped with Amsoil's dry media Ea nanofiber technology air filters. Nanofiber technology is 99.53% efficient. The 360–degree accordion–style Amsoil Ea filter element provides 500% more surface area. Amsoil Ea filters can be cleaned with a shop vacuum cleaner. Additionally, a stainless steel pre filter deflects larger on– or off–road debris, preventing premature buildup of dirt.
