The i2 and x2 weigh about 105 and 120 pounds, respectively. InfoKey is used to turn the PT on and off, engage the “beginner” setting, set the alarm and view battery charge level and operational mode status. It provides information on speed, distance traveled, odometer, time, date, etc. It also protects the Segway from thieves. The Two Saphion lithium-ion battery packs provide up to 12 miles of off-pavement range for x2 models, depending on terrain, riding style and payload. Since the i2 models are aimed at less demanding duty on smooth surfaces, here the batteries will provide a range of 24 miles. Saphion lithium-ion batteries are low-maintenance, have a long service life and can operate at battery temperatures as low as 14 degrees F. The Segway x2’s low-pressure tires cushion the ride on bumpy surfaces as well as minimize environmental impact, while a continuous center rib provides a smooth ride on paved surfaces. The increased track width increases stability on uneven ground. The x2 navigates a variety of surfaces, including sand, grass, gravel, dirt and pavement. Depending on local regulations, you may be able to use the x2 on multi-use pathways, but it is not intended for sidewalks or pedestrian walkways. The i2 series is intended for pavement and smooth surfaces. Top speed is 121/2 mph. The x2’s sturdy fenders are designed to protect the rider from debris and provide a safeguard during leaning turns. The aluminum fender frames have built-in lift handles to help get a grip on the x2 for loading in and out of a vehicle. Fender frames serve as a base for carrying cargo and are compatible with Segway cargo plates. If you are a golfer, x2 Golf is a great alternative to towing or renting a golf cart. Golf course maintainers love the x2 Golf because it is much kinder to the turf than regular golf carts. It uses complex software algorithms to control traction and enable its low-pressure tires to carry the x2 Golf gently over varied terrain. It is also lightweight and extremely maneuverable, enabling it to go places golf carts cannot. For serious off-road duty, there is the x2 Adventurer model. The x2 Adventurer comes with a handlebar bag for stowing a water bottle and other necessities, universal cargo plates for easy attachment of various cargo accessories, a 5-watt LED head-lamp and a LeanSteer Frame, with Tool-less Release to allow quick disassembly of your x2 for transport in your automobile or RV.
