Find Good Times and Good Friends in RV Clubs

If you were to ask a camper or RVer what it is he or she likes best about the lifestyle, you will undoubtedly receive the response "All of the wonderful and interesting people we meet on the road." Or, "Campers are the nicest people you can ever hope to meet."

There are many ways newcomers to the lifestyle can meet others who share the same interests. There are the chance meetings at campgrounds and RV parks. And there are opportunities through various RV clubs.

Because of their interests and needs, RVers have founded a wide variety of clubs and activities, and newcomers are always welcome to participate. From local chapters to national organizations, there are literally hundreds of RV and camping clubs out there. If you're an avid square dancer, or a parent with young children, you can rest assured there is probably an RV club you can join to meet fellow campers who share the same hobbies, interests and backgrounds.

Following is just a sampling of some of the RV clubs. If you don't see one that applies to your particular hobby or interest, ask around the campfire - chances are someone will know someone who knows just the club you're seeking!

Manufacturers' Clubs
The owners of many brands of RVs have organized their own clubs. Many owners' clubs have local chapters which meet occasionally throughout the year.

Some of the organizations arrange for educational seminars; others concentrate on good food and good times. Many of the clubs also sponsor national rallies or RV caravans. These events are often held in popular vacation areas.

Whether you own a gigantic Class A or a lightweight pop-up, contact the manufacturer to see whether there is a club in which you can participate.

Special Interest Clubs
Many RVers enjoy gathering with friends who have special interests or common goals. From singles clubs to an organization of military personnel, chances are good that you can find a club that's just right. Here are a few clubs national RVers' associations you might want to contact:
