All of these gift projects are packaged for presentation in pint-size (two-cup) glass or plastic containers. When your projects are completed, be sure to decorate the containers with ribbons, bows, sprigs of greenery or festive, personalized labels.

Winter Warm-Ups

Piping-hot cocoa and spicy tea are favorite comforts on chilly holiday nights. Following are our simple recipes for instant specialty drinks which are sure to please.

Jazzy Cocoa Mix

In a medium bowl, combine and stir:
1 I cups powdered instant cocoa mix
G cup flavored baking chips (Choose one: raspberry, butterscotch, chocolate mint, semisweet chocolate, white chocolate or milk chocolate chips.)

Make sure the chips are evenly distributed throughout the cocoa mix. Pour mix into containers and close lids tightly. Label each with a decorative instruction tag that reads: “To make one serving of Jazzy Cocoa in a mug, stir four tablespoons cocoa mix into six ounces hot (not boiling) water.”

Spicy Citrus Tea

In a medium bowl, combine and stir:
1 cup powdered instant tea drink mix
H cup powdered instant lemonade drink mix
H cup powdered instant orange drink mix
H teaspoon ground cinnamon
G teaspoon ground cloves

Pour completed tea mix into containers and close lids tightly. Label each with an instruction tag that reads: “To make one serving of Spicy Citrus Tea, in a mug, stir 1 heaping tablespoon powdered tea mix into eight ounces hot (not boiling) water.”

Store jars of tea mix in a cool, dry place.

Layered Fruit-Nut Combos
What could be easier than pouring several varieties of tasty nuts and colorful dried fruits into a jar? Eating them, of course! For the best visual effect when placing nuts and fruits into a container, be sure to form separate layers for each variety. For each combo gift jar, you will need a total of 2 cups shelled nuts and/or dried fruits in the following suggested combinations:

Island Rainbow Mix
Alternate layers of:
Dried, diced papaya
Dried, banana chips
Macadamia nuts and
Dried, diced pineapple

Harvest Mix
Alternate layers of:
Whole almonds
Dried cranberries
Walnut pieces and
Golden raisins

Nuts Alone
Alternate layers of your favorite varieties of nuts, such as: Almonds, peanuts, walnuts, pecans, cashews, pistachios, etc.

Cover filled containers with airtight lids and store in a cool, dry place.
