Cherrystone Camping Resort

Cheriton, Virginia—Cherrystone Camping Resort sits on over 300 acres of beautiful and natural waterfront on the Chesapeake Bay in Virginia's beautiful Eastern Shore.

Here you'll find over 700 sites shaded by tall pine trees, camping cabins, on-site trailer rentals, swimming pools, fishing piers, a well-stocked general store, and a bait and tackle shop. The waterfront location will delight you with its breathtaking sunsets, and wildlife including a wide variety of birds to watch. Children are always welcome, and many of the activities and facilities are designed specifically with children in mind. The camping cabins are actually log cabins. Nestled in the woods, they come equipped with electricity, a ceiling fan, double bed, bunk beds, a picnic table, a charcoal grill and a porch to relax on. You bring your own linens, dishes and cooking equipment. They do not contain bathroom facilities, but a large bath house and a dish washing station are located nearby. Also, there are on-site tent rentals which will accommodate up to four people. The tents are on wooden platforms and come with a picnic table, charcoal grill, electric and water.

The fully stocked bait and tackle shop maintains a complete line of boating accessories, rods and reels, crabbing supplies and baits. Rentals include motorboats, rowboats, bicycles, pedal boats, clam rakes, shuffleboard equipment, and horseshoes. Special weekends are made even more special at Cherrystone. Easter time brings special events such as an Easter egg hunt where the Easter Bunny has a special place to hide eggs for children ages 5 and under. Children between the ages of 6 to 12 will look for eggs in a separate area, ensuring fairness to all. There are also egg races, boardwalk races, children's cartoons and sack races. Memorial Day weekend offers church services, a kite flying contest, softball games, live entertainment and a Memorial Day parade where the children can join in on their bicycles which they have decorated.
