Windmill Island Gardens, Holland, Michigan
Founded by immigrants from the Netherlands, Holland, Michigan, boasts a distinctly Dutch flavor. Nowhere is that more evident than the Windmill Island Gardens, home of the DeZwann windmill.
Located in a 36-acre park amid unique gardens of flowers, ornamentals and statuaries, this can't-miss DeZwann windmill is more than a landmark: It actually produces flower, just like the windmills of Holland. Enjoy a DeZwaan tour by costumed guides, Summer Dutch dancing, a movie on Dutch culture, an Amsterdam street-organ demonstration, tropical conservatory, antique carousel, farm animals, and a larger-than-life checker game.
Complete your visit by perusing the many choices in our Gift shop including DeZwaan flour and De Zoete Haan fudge.
In addition, we offer a diverse nature setting, surrounded by water and yet near downtown with its great shopping experience.
Close to hotels, museums, Lake Michigan beaches, other area attractions, and shopping venues. Open latter part of April through the early part of October, seven days a week including holidays.
