Good Sam RV Travel Guide & Campground Directory

Gettysburg- -doesn’t the very name evoke something deep in your spirit?

If your family stays at Gettysburg Campground, you’ll help them understand why the name does resonate with most Americans …you’ll bring them the gift of our Nation’s history and maybe turn them into history buffs along the way.

Staying at Gettysburg Campground puts you just three miles west of the very center of Gettysburg. You’re also close to Gettysburg National Military Park, which offers tons of Civil War Battlefield walks and tours, evening campfire programs about the Battle of Gettysburg, a variety of band concerts and on-going special events geared to all ages. Children will come to see their Nation’s history is more than a few pages in a text book; it’s their history.

You might imagine (and you’d be right) there several spectacular Civil War museums in Gettysburg: General Lee’s Headquarters, the American Civil War Museum, the Presidents and First Ladies Wax Museum, and you’ll also find a special children’s exploratory museum. Also fantastic is Lincoln’s Live Adventure, where you wander around the streets of Gettysburg in very small groups decoding secrets, finding clues, and engaging in all kinds of memory-making authentic participatory action. Wow.

But if you’re ready for a change of pace, check out the local wineries…grapes are part of nature, right? There’s also a great horse farm, a Victorian photography studio (the kids will love being part of the Civil War “look”), lots of golf courses, movie theaters, riding stables and terrific restaurants.

Once you head back to your RV, the family can enjoy the amenities the Gettysburg Campground offers. Not only do they have a wonderful playground, you can play mini-golf and sand volley ball, fish, goof around in the softball field, and cruise their fully stocked store. You can rest secure in the knowledge the Gettysburg Campground maintains an on-site RV repair shop. Don’t you love the peace in that? They also can accommodate any size RV, have cable and WI-FI.

Share America’s history with your family at Gettysburg, and wonderful family memories staying at the Gettysburg Campground. You won’t regret it.
