Live Oak Landing RV in Freeport, Florida

Are we there yet? Sports fisher-men- women- kids will all be yelling that and here’s the place to stay when you do get there, that is, Freeport, Florida: Live Oak Landing RV.

If you consider yourself a fisherman, and you’ve not stayed at Live Oak Landing, shame, shame! Live Oak Landing, called a “Fisherman’s Paradise” for a mind-boggling number of great reasons, boasts 27 miles of prime river eco-system, both fresh and salt water. Go figure. How great does fishing get? Ask around. You’ll find out. However, if there is a voice (or voices) bleating in your background, “ I hate fishing! What’s there for me to do?” here’s what you can tell them:

The Freeport area of Florida is amazing. You’re only ten miles from a beautiful golf course, and beach lovers (who come in all ages, attitudes and sizes) will be thrilled by TopSail Preserve State Park’s three and half miles of secluded beaches with fine, white sand, and giant dunes that make great fortresses. How fun is that? And even if your kids think they’re too old for forts, kids of all ages like hiding for privacy...voila, the sand dunes! And back to the fishing topic, you can fish from the shoreline here. Note: It’s best to bring your own shade, as there’s none available.

While you’re at the beach, there’s plenty of hiking opportunities, and bird watching. Try to make a day trip to Point Washington State Forest, for a change of environment. Now that’s another big time family day in the outdoors, and well worth checking out. And what’s really great about all of this is that you’re only about 15 minutes from Live Oak Landing’s RV park, as in “home!”.

When you’re back at Live Oak Landing, ask the staff about the environmental learning facility only a five minute drive from the RV park. There you’ll find all kinds of interactive, child-friendly exhibits and nature trails. At the RV park itself, you’ll find, right on-site, a charter fishing service. Yep, there’s the “fishing” word again. Live Oak Landing also has its own private dock and boat ramp for guests, as well as rentals: scooters, bikes, boats, canoes, and kayaks. You’ll be pleased with the modern RV utilities, and a concierge just for guests, and the pretty little creek running through the campsites.

Be the family rock star. Or at least stay out of trouble. Visit Live Oak Landing’s web site at www.liveoaklanding.RVCoutdoors.com
