Lake Okeechobee is the second largest fresh water lake in America and is World Famous for Florida largemouth bass. There are many fishing tournaments held throughout the year (FLW & Bass Masters, Local Clubs). Our resort is part of the Southern Gateway to the Everglades. We are open year round with May through September being very hot and humid with afternoon thunderstorms. Our Winter Season starts as early as October 1st and runs through April.

Okeechobee Landings lies adjacent to the City of Clewiston, and is a Trailhead to the “LOST TRAIL” (Lake Okeechobee Scenic Trail). You can safely walk or ride your bike atop of the Herbert Hoover Dike. The City of Clewiston offers a championship city golf course, superb historic library, movie theater, Clewiston Inn and museum. Clewiston has just opened a new emergency room hospital.

You can take guided fishing tours, air boat rides, or a leisurely pontoon boat ride on Lake Okeechobee. Discover the many forms of wildlife, & species of birds, alligators, otters, turtles, manatees, and more in their natural habitat. There are other area attractions. We are located 65 miles from West Palm Beach, 65 miles from Fort Myers and about 90 miles from Fort Lauderdale, and Key West is only 5 hours away, for those of you who would like to make a day shopping, there are malls and flea markets or just go to the beach for the day.

Depending on your Winter Season schedule, there are fairs and festivals almost every weekend within driving distance for a daily outing. There are things like Big “O” Birding Festival; you will see herons, egrets, wood ducks, mallard ducks, anhinga, geese, sparrows and many rare birds that are here for the winter also. Seminole Heritage Day, Sugarland Tours, (this is about a 4 ½ hour heritage and agriculture tour), that is very informative.
